2017 Merit Badge University

What: Merit Badge University
When: Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 8:00am to 3:30pm
Where: Gaston College in Dallas, NC

Class choices and $14.00 fee are due by our troop meeting on Tuesday January 31st.  You will not be registered without pre-paying the fee. Scout Bucks can be used provided you have them.

Make smart choices.  Most badges at MBU cannot be completed in one day and most have requirements that must be met before attending the class.  Use the document below to choose wisely. Mr. Green will review the classes you choose to ensure they are appropriate to your age, rank, and knowledge level.

Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m.; classes will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. The cost for the one-day event is $14.00 for Scouts and adult volunteers. The fee is the same as last year and includes lunch, teaching materials for the day, and a patch.

Merit Badge University is: an opportunity to learn from professionals and experts in a variety of fields.
Merit Badge University is not: an easy way to get a merit badge but rather a well-earned experience.

Earning a badge at MBU will require scouts to participate fully and each scout must complete ALL requirements to earn a merit badge. Scouts who do not complete requirements at MBU will still have a chance to learn new skills and be on the way to completing the merit badge.
